Happy Love Day Friends!
Whatever you feel about Valentine’s Day, and whatever your relationship status is, remember that loving yourself is the secret to more love and happiness in all areas of your life. So take some time this weekend to love and appreciate yourself first, then be sure to let all the loves in your life know how much you appreciate them too! But don’t limit that to Valentine’s Day. It’s the small acts of thoughtfulness, appreciation and gratitude that make all the difference. So make it a priority to let your partner know what they mean to you each and every day for a happy relationship.
Radical Self Love
Here’s a cool tradition that I’m starting this Valentine’s Day. Write yourself a love letter! Yes, a good old fashion love letter telling yourself all about how amazing you are and all of the things you love about yourself. You could even seal it up in an envelope and have a friend mail it to you at some random time in the future. I do this in my Desire Map Workshops and people love it!
Random Acts of Love
I love this idea from The Love Letter Library of the Stop Drop and Love Letter! It’s such a cool concept. Write a love letter and leave it somewhere for a stranger to find. I’ve written a couple love letters that I’m going to spread around town today. And hope that for those that find them it will bring smile to their face. Because the world can always use a little more love!
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to indulge in some delicious and decadent chocolate mousse! And even better if it’s healthy, but you don’t have to let your sweetie know that it’s healthy. They will never know! All they need to know is that it was made with love 🙂 You may recognize some of these ingredients from my Clean Eating Staples and Superfood Guide. How awesome that these ingredients can be used in such a delicious dessert!?
The secret ingredient to make it creamy, but you don’t even taste it! Full of heart healthy monounsaturated fats that can reduce LDL or “bad” cholesterol, and increase your HDL or “good” cholesterol.
Yes, another superfood staple, unlike cocoa, it’s unprocessed and filled with lots of minerals, enzymes, and an excellent source of magnesium which is great for everything from helping you relax and sleep better to reducing PMS symptoms.
Anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, and adds a nice spice to your chocolate!
Great for helping to balance blood sugar, anti-inflammatory and helps lower cholesterol. It also goes great with chocolate!
Decadent Chocolate Mousse Recipe
- 2 large Avocados
- 2/3 cup raw cacao
- 2/3 cup honey, maple syrup or a mixture
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or nut milk of your choice)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger
- Fresh berries for topping
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
- Transfer into dishes and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
- Top with your favourite fresh berries and enjoy with your love!
